A plant enhances the atmosphere much more and becomes more beautiful with a decorative pot that matches both the plant and its space. The recommended diameter of a pot for this Yucca rostrata is 23 - 30 cm. This is not only an eye-pleasing proportion, but also makes caring for the plant more easy.

This plant should be watered regularly. During sunny periods, we recommend watering every day. During less sunny periods, we recommend once every 3 days unless it has been raining.
This plant should be placed in a place with lots of sun. The more sun, the faster its growth, but also the more moisture it needs.
Nutrition is very important for plants. We recommend that you provide this plant with a good nutritional soil by using high quality Mediterranean soil. We also recommend the addition of extra nutrients through the use of food tablets. This ensures the provision of all necessary nutrients. The plant will also retain its dark green leaf color.
Pruning a palm is simple. When a leaf begins to go dry, the reasonably thick branch near the trunk should be cut off with e.g. a pair of secateurs. The palm grows new shoots every year which grow into large fan leaves.
The Yucca rostrata really gives a unique atmosphere to your garden or room, because of its very unique shape: a trunk surrounded by cut-off leaves from years ago, and a crown of long thin leaves that end in a point.
The Yucca rostrata is a slow grower. Therefore, even the smaller sizes are already quite expensive. If you are looking for a plant that does not shoot too large, then the Yucca rostrata is a good choice.
Planting a Yucca is not much different than planting any other plant. Try to keep the root ball as damage free as possible. Make sure the clod is surrounded with a good nutrient soil. We recommend Florentus Mediterranean Nutrient Soil. Make a hole in the soil or potting compost, deep enough for the root ball. Press the soil around the root ball and fill until there is no more trench around the root ball.
It is best to sow a Yucca in a heated environment. This will increase its success rate. Fill a container with seedling soil, cactus soil is also possible, and place the seeds on the soil. On top of that you can throw some grid or sand, until the seeds are just covered. Watering should be done extremely carefully, because possibly the seeds will be washed away. It is best to spray them until they are slightly moist. Put them away warm between 20-25C. Germination can take months!
A Yucca basically does not need to have water often, as it is a slow grower and simply does not consume much. Check the soil every few days that it is not too dry, and make sure to wet it until it feels medium moist. In the summer months it can be soaking wet, but does not have to.
The Yucca has very long thin leaves, and they can become dry. This is normal. You can just cut off the dry leaves up to the green part. If you do this crookedly, the leaf will appear less trimmed. The Yucca has no problem with this.
A Yucca is an easy plant. It does like some Mediterranean supplemental food (Palm Focus for example) Watering is explained above. Make sure the Yucca gets enough light and do not move it too often, because each move the Yucca has to get used to the new place. Yuccas like a lot of light, so place it in a sunny spot. In winter it may need protection, in extreme temperatures. If so, put fleece around the leafy crown and wrap the pot with bubble wrap.
Our plant sizes are determined by measuring the smallest plants up until the largest in a field with hundreds of plants. Because a plant is a natural product, it's possible a plant is a little smaller than the mentioned minimum size.
This deviation is 10cm maximum. In our guidelines we keep a margin of max. 10cm regarding the minimum size.
Note: when you order a plant that doesn't stay green in the winter, it's probably (when ordered during the winter months or the beginning spring season) smaller than the minimum size. This is not a problem in any case, because the plant will grow new branches or leaves and the minimum height will be reached within a short period. Your order will have the right size within a short time.
