A plant with a nice pot enhances the atmosphere much more and becomes more beautiful than without one. Of course the pot should match the plant and location. The recommended diameter of a pot for this Yucca filifera is 58 - 100 cm. This is not only an eye-pleasing proportion, but also makes caring for the plant more easy.

The Yucca filifera is a rare and fast-growing desert plant that can grow up to 10 meters tall. This palm tree from Mexico is popular for its unique blue-green leaves that grow on stems and branch out into fine threads. Evergreen and hardy down to -13 degrees, it must be protected in the winter months to prevent frost damage.
The Yucca filifera does not have excessive water needs. In summer, it needs some water occasionally, but not too much. In the winter months, it is important to wait until the soil feels dry before watering again. Pay attention to the size of the tree and the weather when determining the watering schedule.
The Yucca filifera thrives best in a sunny location and loves warmth. Place this beautiful palm tree in full sun in a sheltered spot with well-draining soil. Make sure to protect the Yucca in winter from the cold, especially if it is in a pot to prevent the roots from freezing.
For the Yucca Filifera, extra fertilization is important to promote growth and maintain beautiful green leaves. Feed the palm tree from March to October for optimal results. Ensure that the fertilizer is well-balanced to provide the Yucca Filifera with all the necessary nutrients for healthy growth.
When pruning the Yucca Filifera, it is important to cut only the lower leaves that are brown or unattractive. This is best done in spring or summer. Use sharp pruning shears and ensure that the cuts are clean to keep the plant healthy.
The Yucca filifera is a slow grower. That is why the smaller sizes are already quite expensive. If you are looking for a plant that does not grow too large, the Yucca filifera is a good choice.
Planting a Yucca is not much different from planting any other plant. Try to keep the root ball as intact as possible. Make sure the root ball is surrounded by good soil. We recommend Florentus Mediterranean potting soil for this purpose. Make a hole in the ground or potting soil, deep enough for the root ball. Firmly press the soil around the root ball and fill in until there is no trench left around it.
It is best to sow a Yucca in a warm environment. This increases the chances of success. Fill a container with sowing and cutting soil; cactus soil is also possible, and place the seeds on the soil. You can sprinkle some grit or sand over them until the seeds are just covered. Watering should be done very carefully, as the seeds may wash away. It is best to mist them until the surface is lightly moist. Keep them warm at 20-25°C. Germination can take months!

Our plant sizes are determined by measuring the smallest plants up until the largest in a field with hundreds of plants. Because a plant is a natural product, it's possible a plant is a little smaller than the mentioned minimum size.
This deviation is 10cm maximum. In our guidelines we keep a margin of max. 10cm regarding the minimum size.
Note: when you order a plant that doesn't stay green in the winter, it's probably (when ordered during the winter months or the beginning spring season) smaller than the minimum size. This is not a problem in any case, because the plant will grow new branches or leaves and the minimum height will be reached within a short period. Your order will have the right size within a short time.
