The Musa acuminata - - Dwarf Cavendish Banana Plant

The musa Dwarf Cavendish is a very beautiful indoor banana plant that can actually bear fruit (bananas) in your living room!
A banana plant is a real tropical mood creator because it has a great jungle look with its large leaves. In the living room, the acuminata Dwarf Cavendish does not grow very big.

The acuminata is the most common banana plant, also known as the dwarf banana. We really recommend this plant for the living room or an office.

This banana plant is also very common in the tropics and subtropics. There, in contrast, it gets very big, and also gets bananas. In our Dutch living room, however, this is by no means always the case.

It comes from Southeast Asia and Australia. In Indonesia the leaves are often used as a plate to store food, which gives extra flavour to the food.

Another nice fact: The leaves are used in the tropics and often in Africa as roofing.

The musa is also known for its many puppies that will eventually take over the mother plant, in the normal course of events when he gives bananas, which unfortunately is not common in the Netherlands.

As soon as you put the musa in an extra large pot, it will create a small oasis because it will make a lot of puppies and will look unique on each side. If you don't want this and only want to keep one strain, we advise you to leave the largest puppy and remove the other one.
