A plant with a nice pot enhances the atmosphere much more and becomes more beautiful than without one. Of course the pot should match the plant and location. The recommended diameter of a pot for this is 33 - 50 cm. This is not only an eye-pleasing proportion, but also makes caring for the plant more easy.

Place the houseplant in a sunny spot. Be careful with direct sunlight, especially in summer. Also, the ficus should not be in draught. Temperatures below 15 degrees are not good for this houseplant. The 'Nitida' likes a slightly moist soil.
Ficus does not need a lot of nourishment. After purchase, Ficus can be left without nourishment for months. Give nourishment only in spring or summer. Never give too much this can lead to burning of the roots.
Ficus Nitida is a relatively fast grower and is best pruned every autumn. The advantage of this is that the plant receives more light, stays more compact and you don't get long shoots. DeFicus Nitida is a weird duck in the bite. This houseplant is best pruned in late spring (May-June). The reason for this is that the Nitida needs more strength to branch out. Ficus Nitida will branch "at every branch where it has been pruned". This will give you a nice full room or office plant. Use pruning shears and cover the wounds with cigarette ash to stop the bleeding of the houseplant.
Our plant sizes are determined by measuring the smallest plants up until the largest in a field with hundreds of plants. Because a plant is a natural product, it's possible a plant is a little smaller than the mentioned minimum size.
This deviation is 10cm maximum. In our guidelines we keep a margin of max. 10cm regarding the minimum size.
Note: when you order a plant that doesn't stay green in the winter, it's probably (when ordered during the winter months or the beginning spring season) smaller than the minimum size. This is not a problem in any case, because the plant will grow new branches or leaves and the minimum height will be reached within a short period. Your order will have the right size within a short time.
