We always recommend to immediately repot a purchased plant into a larger sized pot, because the pots sold are usually completely rooted. It allows the plant to root more, grow more and it's better for keeping the soil moist.
Most often the plant is around the minimum size. The height of the plant is always incl. pot height. Its actual height depends on the various sources of supply and how long the plant has been staying and growing in our stock environment.
A plant with a nice pot enhances the atmosphere much more and becomes more beautiful than without one. Of course the pot should match the plant and location. The recommended diameter of a pot for this is 29 - 42 cm. This is not only an eye-pleasing proportion, but also makes caring for the plant more easy.

Pay attention
They do not like wet feet and are best placed under a shelter during the winter months.
Watering
This plant should be watered regularly. During sunny periods we recommend watering every day. During less sunny periods we recommend watering once every 3 days, unless it has rained.
Placement
This plant is best placed in a place where the sun/semi-shade is. The more sunshine the faster the growth.
Nutrition
Nutrition is very important for plants. We recommend that this plant is provided with a good nutrient base by using high quality Mediterranean nutrient soil. We also recommend that you administer extra nutrients. Mediterranean nutrient tablets, these are simply pressed into the soil next to the plant. This ensures the supply of all the necessary nutrients and the plant will keep its dark green leaf colour.
Cutting
Pruning an agave is simple. When a leaf starts to dry out, the fairly thick branch near the trunk should be trimmed with e.g. pruning shears.
Additional
The Agave is used in Mexico for the production of Tequila. It is an easy plant and does not require specific knowledge.

Our plant sizes are determined by measuring the smallest plants up until the largest in a field with hundreds of plants. Because a plant is a natural product, it's possible a plant is a little smaller than the mentioned minimum size.
This deviation is 10cm maximum. In our guidelines we keep a margin of max. 10cm regarding the minimum size.
Note: when you order a plant that doesn't stay green in the winter, it's probably (when ordered during the winter months or the beginning spring season) smaller than the minimum size. This is not a problem in any case, because the plant will grow new branches or leaves and the minimum height will be reached within a short period. Your order will have the right size within a short time.
