The Chamaerops humilis 'Cerifera' - Dwarf Palm Silver

Very exclusive ornamental palm due to blue-silver leaves. Hardy to -13C, so highly recommended for the garden. Easy to maintain.

This small fan palm, the Chamaerops humilis 'Cerifera' stands out because of its compact leaf growth.

'Cerifera' means "wax-covered. It is very similar to the Chamaerops humilis, but the Cerifera has a slightly grayer leaf color and smaller leaves.

This species is as hardy as the common Chamaerops humilis.

In general, these palms do not grow much taller than 2.5 - 3 meters in our climate. Also, Chamaerops humilis 'Cerifera' grows more slowly than the common Chamaerops humilis.

The petioles of this palm have spines on them.

They grow in clusters from the underside of the main stem. As a result, this Dwarf Palm grows very nicely full and compact. Due to its somewhat slow growth and because these palm trees do not grow very large, it is also an ideal container plant.

This palm species is a real asset for the terrace or a place in the garden. It can withstand heat well and is drought tolerant.

Finally, it is hardy to as low as -10C!
