Pampas grass can grow up to 2.5m tall under optimal conditions. Under average conditions it will be shorter, e.g. 1-2 meters.
Pampas grass is hardy, but if the winter is severe it should be protected. This can be done in several ways.
Pampas grass does not require much care; it is an easy plant. If you want to spoil it extra, add Mediterranean nutrient soil around the root ball, then it will stay extra healthy and strong and root optimally. Keep the grass from drying out by regularly checking the root ball for dryness. The root ball should always be moist.
Basically not, Pampas grass thrives easily and well under simple conditions. However, you can assure its vitality more by using nutrient soil and extra plant food (Mediterranean Food tablets, those are the best). Then you will get the most beautiful Pampas grass.
We recommend pruning pampas grass short each year around March. Beware of sharp stems. Make it short to about 25cm in height. Then it is ready to produce new fresh shoots in time for the growing season.
Pampas grass does like a good nutrient soil and especially a place with plenty of light and warmth. So make sure you have enough light, warmth, and a good soil.
Pink pampas grass is actually not very easy to get. But we make sure we have them well stocked with spring and summer!
