Looking for a unique hardy palm? With -10C winter hardiness, the Brahea Armata is well suited for the garden.

It is a unique species not often seen in the Netherlands, because it grows slowly and needs a little more care than Trachycarpus or Chamaerops.

We recommend protecting it well in the cold months with, for example, a fleece.

We also recommend additional nutrients: Mediterranean food tablets, which you simply press into the soil next to the plant. This ensures the supply of all necessary nutrients. The plant will then also retain its dark green leaf color.

Cutting

Pruning a palm is simple. When a leaf starts to go dry, the fairly thick branch close to the trunk should be cut off with secateurs, for example. Every year the palm develops new shoots that grow into large fan leaves.
