We always recommend to immediately repot a purchased plant into a larger sized pot, because the pots sold are usually completely rooted. It allows the plant to root more, grow more and it's better for keeping the soil moist.
Most often the plant is around the minimum size. The height of the plant is always incl. pot height. Its actual height depends on the various sources of supply and how long the plant has been staying and growing in our stock environment.

A plant with a nice pot enhances the atmosphere much more and becomes more beautiful than without one. Of course the pot should match the plant and location. The recommended diameter of a pot for this Aloevera mitriformis is 22 - 28 cm. This is not only an eye-pleasing proportion, but also makes caring for the plant more easy.

The Aloevera loves heat, and therefore cannot tolerate below -2 degrees Celsius. We therefore recommend bringing this plant inside in freezing temperatures.
How to take care of an Aloevera?
An Aloevera likes a warm place with lots of sunlight, a good nutrient soil and also supplemental feeding. A good nutrient soil can be provided by Florentus Mediterranean Nutrient Soil. This ensures good rooting and provision of the right nutrient base. We also recommend feeding with 'Ultra Focus', a high quality Mediterranean plant food that provides extra strength and health. This allows the plant to retain its beautiful deep colors.
When to water the Aloevera?
The Aloevera needs regular watering, but not much, because it grows slowly. During the hot days of summer, it should be watered every day. If it is colder, it can be once every 2-4 days, which depends on the temperature and the pot and size of the plant. You can feel this in the soil. If the soil is fairly moist, then the Aloevera still has enough water.
What kind of soil does the Aloevera want?
An Aloevera likes good nutrient soil. For example, you can spoil the root ball with a bag of Florentus Mediterranean Nutrient Soil, specially developed for Mediterranean plants such as the Aloevera. This allows it to root extra well and provides it with the right nutritional base.
When to put the Aloevera inside?
We recommend bringing the Aloevera inside when it starts to freeze.
Why do the leaves die off the Aloevera?
It could be that the Aloevera gets too little water during the growing season, or too much during less hot days. It could also be due to hypothermia.
Is the Aloevera toxic to cats/dogs?
Aloevera contains a gel substance that can be smeared on the skin without adverse effects, but should not be taken orally. Ingesting Aloe Vera is indeed toxic. Thus, it is not recommended to plant an Aloe vera where there are many animals.
Where to buy an Aloevera?
We have a very simple answer to this question. Teeninga Palms is a specialist in Mediterranean plants and trees, offering them at the lowest price and the highest quality, so the choice is easy!
Our plant sizes are determined by measuring the smallest plants up until the largest in a field with hundreds of plants. Because a plant is a natural product, it's possible a plant is a little smaller than the mentioned minimum size.
This deviation is 10cm maximum. In our guidelines we keep a margin of max. 10cm regarding the minimum size.
Note: when you order a plant that doesn't stay green in the winter, it's probably (when ordered during the winter months or the beginning spring season) smaller than the minimum size. This is not a problem in any case, because the plant will grow new branches or leaves and the minimum height will be reached within a short period. Your order will have the right size within a short time.
Special transport is required for larger/heavier plants or objects. This transport costs 29,95 (free for orders above 300). The benefit of this transport is that more products can be selected without getting additional transport costs. The delivery time of this transport type usually is within 1 workday. Howiever, it can take 1 or more days in some cases. If you're not at home when the driver arrives, the order will be placed in front of your door.
